It's a bloody comeback, mate! Australia's favorite reptile-wrestlin', knife-wieldin' hero is returning, only 14 years after his film debut.
Hogan will produce and co-script Crocodile Dundee In Los Angeles, which will also star his wife, Linda Kozlowski, who played the woman who put the shrimp on Dundee's barbie in the first Crocodile Dundee film, featuring Hogan as an easygoing game hunter from down under who tries to adapt to life in New York City. It was a huge hit, tallying nearly $175 in domestic box-office receipts. It was also nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay.
But is there still enough interest for a third film? Crocodile Dundee 2 (1988) did not do nearly as well as its predecessor, grossing a more modest $109 million at the U.S. box office. Between CBS moving its popular Survivor show to the Australian outback and cable channel the Animal Planet's daring Crocodile Hunter program, perhaps it's time for the Yanks to embrace another Aussie renaissance.
