Madonna and her film director boyfriend will tie the knot in a Buddhist wedding ceremony. The couple wed at Skibo castle near Dornoch. "The venue is very peaceful...she wanted it to have an air of tranquility," the source said. Reverend Susan Brown, who officiated at the wedding, said: "This is a wonderful thing for Dornoch in the sense that it is going to bring a lot of people here. This is important as it has not been a very good tourist season here."

"Madonna is a devout follower of Buddhism and she wants the whole thing to have a Buddhist feel," the paper quoted a source close to the star as saying. "Her last wedding was a nightmare with helicopters buzzing overhead and was a bit of a disaster. She doesn't want to repeat those mistakes and Guy has left much of the organising to her. "She hates white stretch limos, so they are out. Hats are out at the reception because she thinks they're old-fashioned."

The source also promised that 32-year-old Ritchie's stag party would stick with tradition and be a "very boozy" affair.

Tabloid speculation over the guest list had been at fever pitch. Hollywood actress Gwyneth Paltrow was tipped as Madonna's guest of honor, while others speculated to be invitees were Brad Pitt, his actress wife Jennifer Aniston and rock star Sting.
